monitoring solutions.
Quickly
Identify & Understand Performance Issues
SwitchMonitor Pro provides network performance information on
every interface on your network. Instantly know which interfaces
are over-utilized, and which interfaces have too many errors.
Information
Anywhere
You need to be able to securely access your network performance
information wherever you are: Wweb browser, PocketPC, or Cellphone.
Staying informed no longer means monitoring screens all day
in an operations center. Teleworking from a remote site is
made easier with a low-bandwidth optimized user interface.
Full-Featured PocketPC Interface
All features that are available via the web interface are
available on the PocketPC web interface. Being completely
mobile provides you with the ability to resolve problems rapidly
while still in the field. No more running back to a desktop
just to check network statistics.
Monitor
WAN and Internet links
SwitchMonitor Pro can monitor utilization and errors on router
interfaces. This will allow you to keep track of performance
on your Internet and other WAN links that are connected to
your router. Each interface will have utilization tracked
daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly so you can watch overall
trends of your usage and determine when you should consider
adding or reducing bandwidth.
Create
a Self-Documenting Network
SwitchMonitor Pro collects and displays the OSI services that
each device reports. This lets you rapidly and accurately
determine the purpose and function of each network device
without having to perform a manual inventory. Each device
on your network is also interrogated for for information about
its OS version, location, and administrative contact. This
provides an efficient method to track device inventory information
across the enterprise. Inventory information can be downloaded
in CSV format for importing into spreadsheets for even greater
reporting capability.
Track
Equipment Support Contracts
A network emergency is no time to be searching for service
contract information. SwitchMonitor Pro keeps track of service
contracts for each of your network devices. This means that
your service contract information is easily accessible from
wherever you are. You'll always know when service contracts
are due to expire before they've expired because SwitchMonitor
Pro will send out a monthly service contract report keeping
you abreast of your contract status. In addition, a reminder
email is sent one month prior to each service contract's expiration,
preventing lapses in support contracts.
Know
Network Uptime
Each device reports how long it has been online and servicing
the network. This determines the general reliability and stability
of your network hardware. Being familiar with this statistic
helps you to evaluate when equipment should be replaced or
serviced.
Complete
End-to-End Monitoring
Tracking errors on all interfaces on your network provides
you with an unabridged vision of your network's health. Monitoring
server interfaces permits detecting errors on server NICs
(like duplex issues or collisions).
Outage
Scheduling Made Easy
Monitoring server interfaces for usage means that you can
easily know when there's no usage on servers. This makes scheduling
an outage very easy because you can easily predict when there
will be low usage on the server.
Detect
abnormal usage
Watching your Internet link's usage can help you to detect
abormal usage. Typically, most Internet links have a lot of
inbound traffic flows; servicing web browsers and other inbound
information requests. If you notice that there are strange
outbound traffic flows during certain hours, you may be able
to detect inappropriate usage (like a hacker or illegal file
sharing) on your network. You can use SwitchMonitor Pro to
track the utilization back to the specific interface (by checking
each interface on your switch for a matching pattern of utilization)
and thus locate the specific machine that is generating the
traffic. |
